College Station, Texas. Dr. Bhimu Patil, Ph.D., Regents Professor and director of the Vegetable and Fruit Improvement Center in the Department of Horticultural Sciences at the Texas A&M College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, was recognized for his outstanding contributions to research at the annual College Connect Awards event on Sept. 18, 2025.

The ceremony, hosted at the Shirley and Joe Swinbank ’74 AgriLife Center, celebrated faculty, staff and students who have demonstrated exceptional achievement across teaching, research and service. Dr. Patil was among the distinguished recipients of the Dean’s Outstanding Achievement Awards, earning the Research Award for his sustained excellence and impact in agricultural and horticultural science.

The College Connect Awards also highlighted faculty promotions, tenure recognitions and teaching awards, underscoring the depth of talent and commitment within Texas A&M’s agricultural and life sciences community.
